OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) A homicide investigation is underway following the death of a three-year-old victim who allegedly shot and killed himself while playing with an unsecured gun.
According to Oklahoma City Police officials, on Sunday, July 6, at around 12:14 p.m., officers were called to a local hospital after three-year-old Kenari Windom arrived by a personal vehicle.

Windom was taken into surgery for the gunshot wound but was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The shooting happened at a northwest Oklahoma City apartment complex, where the gun, which belonged to 22-year-old Anthony Grizzard Jr., was left lying on the bed next to him, according to officials.
Windom was able to get hold of the gun before firing it off and striking himself. Grizzard Jr. was said to have fled the scene but was taken into custody on Monday.
He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on second-degree murder and as a felon in possession of a firearm.
