(WHTM) – Walmart is recalling approximately 850,000 Ozark Trail water bottles following several injuries, including two cases where consumers experienced permanent blindness, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The CPSC reported that the screwcap on the 64-ounce stainless steel water bottles “can forcefully eject” upon opening after food or beverages have been stored inside for an extended period.

To date, the CPSC has documented three incidents of individuals being struck in the face by the bottles’ lids. In two cases, the impact resulted in permanent vision loss after being hit in the eye.

The bottles, which have been sold in Walmart stores nationwide since 2017, are silver with a black lid and the Ozark Trail logo on the side.

They bear the model number 83-662 on the product packaging, the CPSC says.

Consumers are urged to stop using the affected bottles immediately. They can also return them to the nearest Walmart for a full refund.
