SPD arrests man in connection with May battery

The Savannah Police Department (SPD) detained an individual on Wednesday regarding a battery incident from May, using Flock Safety Technology in their investigation.

The incident of aggravated battery occurred May 10 in the 600 block of W. 39th Street.

During a traffic stop that day, SPD officers identified Anthony Joyner, who was found to have an outstanding warrant for aggravated battery and was driving with a suspended license. A vehicle search uncovered possession of a controlled substance.

Subsequently, Joyner faced charges for aggravated battery and operating a vehicle with a suspended license, as well as possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and improper passing.
