Two days after complaining about Vladimir Putin’s “bulls—“, Donald Trump says he’s preparing to make a major statement against Russia.
The US president has recently shifted his stance regarding his Russian counterpart, and earlier today (AEST), he informed NBC News that he is likely to take additional actions against Moscow in the coming week.
“I’m disappointed in Russia, but we’ll see what happens over the next couple of weeks,” he said in the phone interview.
“We get a lot of bulls–t thrown at us by Putin. You want to know the truth. He is very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless.”
Following a temporary halt in the delivery of some previously pledged weapons to Ukraine last week, the White House has now resumed the munitions shipments. Trump unveiled specifics about an agreement with NATO, reached at last month’s summit, to ensure continued armament for Kyiv.
“What we’re doing is sending the weapons to NATO, which will, in turn, supply them to Ukraine, with NATO covering the costs for these weapons,” Trump stated.
“We send weapons to NATO, and NATO is going to reimburse the full cost of those weapons,” he added.
