EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) A brother and sister, who were killed in the Ruidoso, New Mexico flash flood, were identified by family members on Thursday, July 10.

The siblings, 7-year-old Sebastian Rowan and 4-year-old Charlotte Emery Trotter, were identified as the victims who died as a result of the flash flooding that occurred on Tuesday, July 8, in Ruidoso.

The family describes the two siblings as “two of the brightest, most joyful souls you could ever meet.”

Additionally, the family also tells affiliate KTSM that Sebastian, the oldest one, was brave in trying to save his little sister in the flooding.

As we previously reported, the children were part of a Fort Bliss family.

Military officials released a statement earlier this week stating that a Fort Bliss soldier, their spouse, sustained serious injuries. The couple’s two children died as a result of the flooding.

The family has set up a GoFundMe account for the funeral and medical expenses for the surviving parents.
