LEEDS, Ala. (WIAT) — A Leeds man is facing child sexual abuse material and drug charges after police executed a search warrant Thursday.

The Leeds Police Department, alongside its special investigations unit, special weapons and tactics unit, and a state task force dedicated to tackling internet crimes against children, executed a search warrant in the 7400 block of Frisco Avenue as a part of their inquiry.

During the execution of this warrant, 33-year-old Jacob Shane Freeze was apprehended. The department revealed that devices owned by Freeze were confiscated, containing images and videos related to child sexual exploitation.

Freeze faces 10 counts of possessing child sexual abuse content, three counts of distributing such material, as well as charges for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Jefferson County Jail with a bond set at $512,000. Additional charges might be filed against Freeze as the investigation continues.

“I am proud of the efforts of our team,” Leeds Police Chief Paul Irwin said in a statement. “They do a great job everyday targeting individuals who pose a danger to the community. The relationships we build in the community and law enforcement partnerships with other local and federal agencies make a difference in people’s lives everyday! Anyone with information on this or other cases are encouraged to contact our department.”
