An American Idol music supervisor and her husband have been found dead in their Los Angeles home.
Officers were conducting a welfare check at a home in the Encino neighbourhood when they found the bodies of a man and woman with gunshot wounds.
An American Idol spokesperson confirmed the deaths of Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, both 70.
The couple owned their home, according to public records.
Los Angeles police say they are investigating their deaths as homicides but have not identified any suspects.
“We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Robin and her beloved husband, Tom. Since 2009, Robin has been an integral part of the Idol family and was genuinely cherished and admired by everyone who interacted with her,” a spokesperson for American Idol stated to CNN.
“Robin will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends during this challenging period,” the statement added.
Tony Im, a public information officer with the LAPD, confirmed that officers attended to the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue in Encino—an address linked to Kaye and Deluca as per public property records—around 2:33 pm on Monday (local time) after a welfare check request was made.
Once on the scene, officers discovered one male and one female victim who appeared to have “suffered from possible gunshot wounds” and they were both pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Im, an arrest of a suspect has been made.
Kaye was a veteran music supervisor, having over 40 credits dating back to the late 1990s.
Kaye, an industry veteran, has also worked in the music departments of several other productions such as The Singing Bee, Hollywood Game Night, Lip Sync Battle, and several Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
Kaye most notably spent over a decade working as a music supervisor for American Idol between 2009 and 2023.
