It was a special All-Star break for Brett Baty.

Although the Mets’ third baseman didn’t take part in the Midsummer Classic events in Atlanta, he spent his break from baseball to propose to his future wife, Anna Sprys.

Baty and Sprys made a collaborative Instagram post Wednesday evening with photographer Jordan Simone, who helped capture the proposal.

“Forever with my best friend,” the post was captioned.

The couple received many congratulations in the comments, including from Katia Lindor, Mets All-Star Francisco Lindor’s wife.

“Congrats!!! So happy for you guys,” she wrote.

The images captured Baty kneeling to ask the big question on a Cape May, N.J. shoreline, before family and friends joined to celebrate, posing alongside the newly engaged pair.

While the couple has mostly kept their relationship under wraps, appearing only in occasional Instagram updates, they have been linked since June 2022, with Baty marking their first anniversary on June 12, 2023.

While Baty hails from Texas, Sprys is originally from Pittsburgh.

Sprys attended Binghamton University, where she played volleyball from 2019 to 2023 as a 6-foot middle blocker.

Baty played 129 games across 2021 and 2022 for the Mets’ Double-A affiliate, which plays in Binghamton.

Sprys was a team captain for Binghamton’s volleyball team and played five seasons while earning an MBA with a concentration in Marketing as well as a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

She currently works as a marketing coordinator.

Baty has played 75 games so far this season for New York, posting a .226 batting average with a .685 OPS.

The 25-year-old has nine home runs this season, which have already tied his career high that he posted in 2023 in 108 games.

He will now play the rest of this season as a fiancé.
