2 indicted in West Bay Street shooting

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Two men were indicted by a Chatham County grand jury Wednesday in connection to the April West Bay Street shooting.

At around 2:20 a.m. on April 20, officers responded to sounds of gunfire at West Bay and Jefferson Streets. One person was minorly injured.

Upon arrival officers found Marquell Moultrie, 24, with a firearm and acted to take him into custody, but he dropped the weapon.

Malik Moultrie, 23, reportedly picked up the gun and attempted to flee. Both were taken into custody on the scene of the shooting.

Marquell faces charges for aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the execution of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of an unlawful weapon.

Malik is charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by a first offender probationer, possession of an illegal weapon
