Mark Latham has addressed allegations against him in a press conference that turned into a 40-minute ramble.

The NSW upper house MP has had a tumultuous week, after allegations of domestic violence and inappropriate behaviour were levelled against him.

He attempted to plead his case in front of the media yesterday.

“I’ve broken no law,” he said.

“This has gone right down the rabbit hole.”

But the press conference quickly turned into a ramble.

“You know that old happy days character howdy-doodie, no one here is that old okay,” he said.

Latham proceeded to rant on everything from NSW Premier Chris Minns to journalists.

“Minns is blissfully ignored by a majority of his colleagues in the upper house,” he said about Minns.

“You’re shaking there, you must be worried about your own voyeur. Oww, shaky fake media,” he said about a journalist.

Latham then addressed his relationship with his former partner Nathalie Matthews, who has accused him of domestic violence.

Matthews is seeking a private aggravated violence order against her ex, alleging she faced emotional and physical abuse.

But Latham has denied the allegations.

“It’s nonsense, complete nonsense,” he said.

“The police did not involve themselves in the AVO matter, and now Matthews is attacking them for in effect not protecting her from herself.”

Latham also addressed allegations he had sex with Matthews in state parliament by refusing to deny the claims.

He did, however, deny reports that he has footage of their relations.

“I have checked my devices and I can’t find any material,” he said.

Matthews released a brief statement following the press conference, saying she’s aware of the remarks Latham made.

“I am informed about Mr. Latham’s statements today, and since the issue is currently in court, I won’t be making any additional comments at this point,” she stated.

“I require the privacy that I deserve, whilst I go through this stressful period. The full story will come out in due course in the proper manner.”

Matthews’ AVO application will be heard in two weeks.

Meanwhile, pressure is building for an investigation into Latham’s conduct in NSW parliament.
