Connor Zilisch set a new record last week by becoming the youngest driver to achieve four career wins in the Xfinity Series. The 18-year-old continued his winning streak on Saturday by securing victory at the rain-shortened BetRivers 200 at Dover Motor Speedway in Delaware.

Zilisch dominated the race by leading for a top 77 laps, including the last 35 laps before the rain brought the race to a halt at lap 134. Instead of celebrating in victory lane, he moved the celebration to the garage, but this didn’t diminish his triumph.

With Saturday’s victory in Dover, Zilisch has now recorded eight straight top-five finishes, with no signs of slowing the momentum.

“It’s been incredible,” Zilisch remarked following his win. “All the credit goes to JR Motorsports and the fantastic cars we’ve been bringing to the racetrack. It makes a driver’s job much simpler when the car is well-handled and can speed effortlessly. Big thanks to my 88 team and everyone at JRM; we’ve all been performing exceptionally, all four cars, and even the fifth when it’s running.”

Zilisch is no stranger to Dover Motor Speedway. He won last year in the ARCA Menards Series race, so it was no surprise to him that he was able to pull out the victory Saturday.

“Feels good to get our fourth win of the year,” he added. “My fourth win of the year, my 88 group’s fifth win of the year. And really cool to get it at a track like Dover, this place is awesome. One of the cooler trophies and I’ve already got one at home, so now I’ve got a big brother for my one at home.”

Zilisch said his experience at Dover last year helped him have a “good feel of the track” and be “more comfortable behind the wheel.”

“I didn’t feel as fast as we did the first time I came around. So, yeah, it was awesome to come back again and get another win here.”

With Saturday’s victory, Zilisch remains 56 points behind Justin Allgaier in the Xfinity Series Standings. Allgaier finished fourth at Dover, behind Aric Almirola and Brandon Jones.

Zilisch will be chasing win number five next week at the Pennzoil 250 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. You can catch that race on The CW Saturday, July 26 at 4:30 p.m. ET.
