JD Vance Makes It Clear Where Trump Stands On Amnesty: ‘There’s Nothing Hateful…’

During Vance’s appearance on “The All-In Podcast” on Wednesday, the Vice President addressed growing concerns from the right about amnesty after Trump seemed to suggest compassion towards illegal immigrants in the agriculture and hospitality sectors.

The podcast host noted that following the chaos from the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, the administration appeared to find a “middle ground” on immigration, showing they “listened to the other side.”

“The decision maker is, of course, one man, and while he [Trump] listens to everybody, he’s also going to make the decisions that are best for the country,” Vance explained. “And then we go and execute that.”

“What the president has said is, number one, we are not going to do amnesty in this country,” he added. “We actually are not going to tell people who have come into the country illegally that they’re allowed to break our laws and be rewarded for it. We’re just not going to do that.”

Vance went on to explain there’s no compassion when it comes to allowing people to break our laws.

“I do think that we have to make a stronger argument here, there’s nothing discompassionate, or there’s nothing hateful about enforcing our own borders,” the VP said, receiving a round of applause from those in the room.

“Do you facilitate these Mexican drug cartels…. the hundreds of thousands of missing children under [former President] Joe Biden’s administration … when you enforce the nation’s border laws, that is the most compassionate thing to do both for your own people but also for the people who are illegally trafficked.”

As my RedState colleague Bonchie reported, just when Republicans seem to be winning on the immigration issue, some Republicans in Congress recently decided to propose a dumpster fire amnesty Bill.

He added:

The White House has hit back against the idea of Trump supporting amnesty as well. During a recent White House Press Briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked about Salazar’s proposal, RedState reported.

“The President has made it very clear he will NOT support amnesty for illegal aliens in any way,” Leavitt said.

The White House Press Secretary also provided a list during the briefing of all the immigration victories under President Trump and his administration’s efforts to try and fix the destruction that former President Joe Biden did to our security with his open border policy.
