A Texas man was arrested for allegedly making threats against a bar owner who fired his girlfriend and setting fires outside the establishment.

Kevin Arthur Williams, age 47, was taken into custody at the Bexar County Jail on Tuesday with charges of arson and issuing terroristic threats. The arrest affidavit acquired by local NBC affiliate WOAI reveals that Williams’ girlfriend was dismissed from her job at Chillie Willie’s Mustang Lounge located in San Antonio, Texas. Following the firing, the couple visited another bar, where they crossed paths with Chillie Willie’s proprietors and a verbal dispute ensued.

During that argument, Williams allegedly threatened to kill the bar owner and burn Chillie Willie’s down.

Allegedly, Williams sent several threatening text messages to another employee at Chillie Willie’s, explicitly referring to the bar owner. The messages included statements such as, “Kill me or I kill her or she apologizes on every website” and “Isn’t it disappointing to know you have less than three hours to kill your homeboy? Or I kill [name redacted] LOL,” as noted in the affidavit, which was also obtained by local ABC affiliate KSAT.

Williams, via text message, also reportedly said, “Either way I’m going to jail for a very long time or the mental institution.”

The affidavit described an incident where Williams encountered the bar owners once more. During this confrontation, he allegedly shouted, “I’m going to kill you b—, [name redacted], you’re dead! I’m going to kill you. I’m going to kill you.” Williams purportedly attempted to physically assault the bar owner, though several people stepped in and prevented an altercation from escalating. A witness allegedly informed the police that Williams repeated the threats approximately 50 times.

The tension came to a head on July 7, when Williams went to Chillie Willie’s and was seen by a witness getting out of his vehicle, pouring gas on the lawn outside the bar, and allegedly starting a fire. Witnesses were able to put the fire out, but then Williams allegedly started another one by the bar’s front porch. Surveillance video provided by an employee allegedly showed Williams starting one of the fires.

The fire caused $25,000 worth of damage to the bar, which temporarily closed.

Williams was charged with arson, terroristic threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury, and arson intended to damage habitation. He is currently in custody at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on a combined bond of $130,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 20.
