James Craig Murder Trial: Dentist’s Mistress Breaks Down on Stand, Says She Visited Him While His Wife Was Dying in Hospital

Two people who were previously jailed with James Craig testified Wednesday in the high-profile murder trial against the former Colorado dentist.

According to a report by Denver’s ABC 7, former inmate Kasey Bohannon provided testimony, revealing that he had encountered Craig while both were jailed in March 2023 at the Arapahoe County Jail in Centennial.

Bohannon, who was released later that year, claimed that Craig requested him to perform certain tasks, such as planting false evidence at Craig’s residence, to suggest his wife, Angela, had taken her own life.

Currently, Craig is on trial and faces a range of serious charges, including murder, solicitation to tamper with physical evidence for two separate counts, solicitation to commit perjury for two instances, and solicitation to commit murder.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, an affidavit indicated that in 2023, Craig ordered arsenic and cyanide multiple times before Angela Craig’s death.

According to the affidavit, an office manager at Craig’s dental practice told police that Craig prepared protein shakes for Angela every morning before their workouts.

After drinking the shakes, Angela often felt faint and subsequently ended up in an emergency room at UCHealth.

Angela, a 43-year-old mother of six, passed away on March 18, 2023.

Bohannon told the court that Craig specifically wanted him to plant fake journal entries to imply Angela had been having suicidal thoughts before her death.

“Yes, he was going to rewrite a journal. It was supposedly (Angela’s), about committing suicide and how bad life was and how she wanted to take her life. And so, he had asked if I would be able to go and either get into his home and put this into his garage, or put it into his pickup truck that was parked in the street,” Bohannon testified.

He explained that Craig then told him about the security cameras in his house, gave him a code to unlock his vehicle, and provided a map of the Craig home.

Bohannon said that “within minutes,” he destroyed the map and later reported it.

“Once I realized what was going on, I was like, ‘No,’” he said.

Defense lawyer Lisa Moses asked Bohannon if he knew a probation violation against him was underway when he spoke about Craig with the prosecution in July 2023.

Bohannon admitted that he learned about his probation violation the following day, after a conversation with Aurora Police Detective Bobbi Olson.

Prosecutor Osama Magrebi then asked Bohannon if there was any benefit to him for providing information about Craig. Bohannon denied this, adding that the details he shared in court matched what he initially emailed to prosecutors in July 2023, after he had already been released from jail.

“I just had this feeling, almost like sick. Like, I knew something. It wasn’t right that I knew what he told me and I felt like I needed to reach out and tell someone,” Bohannon said.

Prosecutor Ryan Brackley then brought Nathaniel Harris to the stand. Harris, a current inmate at Denver County Jail, said he agreed to testify after his wife urged him to do so for “moral compass” reasons.

Harris stated that he became acquainted with Craig when they were cellmates at Arapahoe County Jail in November 2024. He said Craig began discussing the charges against him, stating he was accused of “allegedly murdering his wife” and aiding in her suicide.

Harris testified that he told Craig that his former spouse helped him fabricate photos and documents for a previous case he had. Craig allegedly said he wanted someone to make up stories to help him and to take the focus off of him as a suspect.

Craig then allegedly gave Harris a letter that was meant to be mailed to a woman identified as Kasiani Konstantinidis. Harris called the woman his former wife.

Investigators later discovered the letter, while Konstantinidis told Harris she wanted no part of the scheme.

Harris then testified that Craig said he wanted someone to take out the lead investigator in the case, identified as Olsen.

“He wanted me to source out somebody,” Harris told the jury, adding that Craig said a blank check would be offered. “And before things got out of hand, I told him I’d handle it.”

Craig, according to Harris’ testimony, also asked him to take pictures of a deputy’s minor son as he exited a school bus “for intimidation.”

Harris told the jury that Craig “wanted a hit” on Olson done before his first trial, which would have been at the end of 2024, but was rescheduled.

Harris, who claimed Craig “followed him around like a puppy,” said he knew nothing of Craig’s case or how high-profile it had become in the media.

Harris then admitted that the prosecution offered him “something” for his testimony that he declined, since the offer “didn’t work for me.”

Craig has pleaded not guilty.
