A mini bus crash has injured a groom on the way to his wedding after the vehicle rolled in the NSW Hunter Valley region this morning.

Six men were on board at the time, including the driver and a grooms party, when the bus veered from Mount View Road at Mount View after 10.30am.

Police said two people, including the groom, were left with serious injuries and four people were left with minor injuries.

“It’s a heartbreaking situation since they hadn’t reached the wedding yet, meaning the ceremony is still ahead of them,” said NSW Police superintendent Steve Laksa.

“We’re very fortunate that the injuries weren’t fatal.

“It definitely could’ve been worse.”

NSW Taxi Council CEO Nick Abrahim said the passengers were on their way to the wedding when the bus crashed on a “narrow and windy” road.

“I do understand there were other vehicles, the wedding party was travelling together,” Abrahim told 9News.com.au.

Abrahim said the manager of the taxi business spoke with the driver at the scene, who had some injuries.

“He did seem ok,” Abrahim said.

“We’re just grateful that everybody was able to get out.”

Police said the driver will undergo mandatory blood and alcohol testing.

Nine ambulance vehicles and two emergency helicopters were sent to the scene.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
