(NewsNation) — “Jeopardy!” host Ken Jennings has no plans to step down from his “incredibly fun job” as host of the long-running game show.
Jennings, now 51, recently spoke with TV Insider to discuss his upcoming participation in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” and shared insights about his role on “Jeopardy!”
“Typically, it’s not a position people retire from. I wasn’t aware of this initially, but with some experience, I now see why Alex was dedicated to it. It’s an incredibly enjoyable job,” Jennings remarked. “I feel incredibly fortunate to remain part of the ‘Jeopardy!’ family after all this time. I have no intentions of stepping down.”

In 2021, Jennings assumed his role as one of the hosts of “Jeopardy!” after the beloved Alex Trebek passed away due to pancreatic cancer. Trebek had been the host since 1984 until his passing in 2020.
Jenning split co-hosting duties alongside “The Big Bang Theory” actress Mayim Bialik until 2023, when Bialik was let go.
Executive Producer Michael Davies had previously mentioned that consistency was needed on the show, leading to Bialik’s departure, and stated that “Ken truly earned the position,” as reported by People.
Jennings first appeared on “Jeopardy!” as a contestant in 2004, winning a record 74 consecutive games.
Jennings is also celebrated as the show’s top player, amassing the highest regular season winnings. He is the second-highest earner in the show’s history (including tournaments), with an impressive $4.3 million in total winnings.
