Twenty-five individuals were taken to hospitals when a Delta flight traveling from Utah to Amsterdam encountered “significant turbulence” and was forced to land in Minneapolis on Wednesday, according to the airline.

Flight DL56, headed from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam, landed at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, Delta said in a statement.

Upon arrival, medical staff assessed passengers and crew. “Twenty-five individuals on board were taken to local hospitals for further evaluation and treatment,” the airline reported. “We appreciate the assistance of all the emergency responders involved.”

The flight landed safely at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport around 7:45 p.m. The airport’s fire department and EMS were at the gate to assist those on board, as stated.

“Safety is our No. 1 value at Delta, and our Delta Care Team is working directly with customers to support their immediate needs,” the airline said.

The airline did not disclose the total number of passengers and crew on the flight. It was noted the aircraft was an Airbus A330-900, which can seat up to 465 people, based on Airbus’ website.

Earlier in March, five passengers experienced minor injuries when a United flight faced turbulence, leading to an emergency landing in Waco, Texas. The flight, SkyWest Flight 5690 operating as United Express, was traveling from Missouri to Houston.
