Lollapalooza 2025: Chicago Grant Park festival kicks off Thursday with Tyler the Creator, Luke Combs headlining lineup

CHICAGO (WLS) — Lollapalooza kicks off Thursday in Grant Park and it’s set to be four days of non-stop music, energy, and big name performances!

More than 170 artists will hit eight stages Thursday through Sunday.

Tyler the Creator brings the heat and Luke Combs will have the country vibes as Thursday’s headliners.

This weekend includes big names like Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, ASAP Rocky, and Doechii.

With tens of thousands expected downtown, CTA and Metra are stepping up with extra trains and service all weekend long.

Gates open each day at 11 a.m. There are two entrance points to the festival grounds in Grant Park: the main entrance at Michigan Avenue and Ida B. Wells Drive, and a north entrance at Monroe Street and Columbus Drive.

Gates close at 10 p.m. each night.

There are several levels of tickets available: General Admission, GA+, VIP and Platinum. Ticket prices are as follows:

General Admission

1 day: Starting at $189, fees included
2 day: Starting at $378, fees included
4 day: Starting at $415, fees included

GA+

1 day: Starting at $300, fees included
4 day: Starting at $775, fees included

VIP

1 day: Starting at $635, fees included
4 day: Staring at $1,670, fees included

Platinum

1 day: Starting at $2,130, fees included
4 day: Starting at $4,550, fees included

Lolla Insider

4-day-: Starting at $25,000, fees included

All ticket sales are final. Wristbands are dispatched ahead of the festival, are non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and must be worn securely on your wrist to prevent removal and re-use.

Lost or stolen wristbands can only be replaced for the original purchase once, for a $25 fee.

Lollapalooza bag policy

-All bags will undergo a search before entry.
-Small clutch purses and fanny packs that are 6″ x 9″ or smaller do not require being clear, but shouldn’t have more than one pocket.
-All other bags larger than 6″ x 9″ must be smaller than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ and transparent.
-Hydration packs are permitted and do not need to be clear, but must be emptied of all liquid with no more than two main compartments and one smaller compartment.

Lollapalooza allowed and prohibited items

ALLOWED ITEMS

-Baby strollers
-Binoculars
-Cameras (basic point and shoot consumer-grade cameras) without detachable lenses and other accessories (monopods, selfie sticks, tripods, GoPro mounts, and other attachments are prohibited)
-Empty reusable water bottles and hydration packs, and plastic or aluminum water bottles
-Factory sealed Naloxone/Narcan kit
-Hydration/Electrolyte packets in factory sealed single serving packages
-Personal sized hand sanitizer (3.4 ounces or less)
-Personal misting fans with a bottle no larger than 1.5L (must be empty upon entry)
-Portable battery packs
-Sunscreen in non-aerosol containers is allowed in sizes of 3.4 ounces or less.
Prescription Medicine Requirements:
-Anyone requiring prescription medicine at the festival must present the pharmacy-labeled container which states the prescription, dosage, and patient name to our medical staff at each entrance gate. Patrons are only allowed a sufficient supply of the prescribed medication for that day.
-Medicines requiring inhalation or smoking are prohibited unless in a prescribed inhaler.
-Over-the-counter medications are permitted in a sufficient amount for the day. Bottle contents will be verified by medical personnel at the entry gates.

PROHBITIED ITEMS:

-Any bag not complying with the allowed bags policy.
-Aerosol containers, including sunscreen and personal beauty products
-Blankets, sheets, towels
-Coolers of any kind. (Exceptions may be made for medical use)
-Framed backpacks, multiple pocket backpacks and any pack not conforming with the allowed backpacks above. (See Full Bag Policy Below)
-Frisbees
-All professional audio recording equipment
-Professional cameras and professional recording (photo, video, audio) equipment (NO large professional detachable zoom lenses, stands, monopods, tripods, attachment sticks (selfie sticks) or other commercial equipment.
-All professional video equipment. No video recording will be allowed
-Drones or any other remote flying device
-Hammocks
-Glass containers of any kind
-Illegal and Illicit substances of any kind
-Inflatables of any kind
-Outside food or beverage (including alcohol) of any kind
-Umbrellas
-Pets (except service animals)
-Selfie sticks
-Skateboards, scooters, bicycles, wagons, carts or any personal motorized vehicles
-Tents, canopies, or shade structures of any kind.
-Totems or flag poles.
-Unauthorized/unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No unauthorized solicitation and materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, giveaways, samples, etc.
-Weapons or explosives of any kind
-Fireworks
-Large chains or spiked jewelry
-Bicycles inside festival grounds
-Carts of any kind (including Red Wagons)
-Chairs of any kind
-All Chicago parks prohibit smoking of any kind, including vaping.

How to get to Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza is most conveniently reached by using public transportation. Both CTA and Metra provide multiple options to access the festival, along with extended service to accommodate the expected crowds.

CTA’s Red and Blue lines, as well as the elevated lines in the loop, all serve Grant Park. Yellow Line service is being extended to 1 a.m. each night, and various bus lines will connect between Metra trains at Ogilvie and Union Station and Grant Park.

CTA and Metra will post signs directing commuters to the right bus lines to connect to the festival from those stations. There will be bus line re-routes near Grant Park during the festival weekend.

The closest CTA stops to Grant Park are Monroe, Jackson and Harrison on the Red Line; Adams/Wabash and State/Van Buren – Harold Washington Library on the Brown Line; and Monroe, Jackson and LaSalle on the Blue Line.

Parking is available at Millennium Garages in the four garages: Millennium Lakeside Garage, Millennium Park Garage, Grant Park North and Grant Park South.

Biking to the festival is encouraged, and bike parking will be provided south of the main entrance on Michigan Avenue.
