Naperville police, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County searching for missing woman Olasinmibo 'Sinmi' Abosede off 83rd St.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) — There is a large-scale search Monday for a missing woman in Naperville.

The DuPage County Forest Preserve District announced via social media that they are assisting Naperville police in a search effort. This operation kicked off at 9 a.m. at the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve located on 83rd Street.

Olasinmibo “Sinmi” Abosede was last seen on Wednesday.

Dozens are volunteers are helping, along with K-9 teams.

Illinois State Police previously said Abosede is 46; 5-feet, 6-inches tall; and weighs 190 pounds.

According to state police, she has black hair and was last seen wearing a black headscarf, a black Adidas jacket featuring white stripes on the sleeves, gray sweatpants, and black Crocs.

She was last seen on the corner of Sudbury Street and Lindsay drive at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Abosede has a condition that places her in danger, police said.

People who plan to visit that forest preserve Monday will notice increased activity, but the preserve and parking lots are open.

Chopper 7 was over the scene about noon, and one of the people searching was put on a stretcher and placed in an ambulance.

It was not immediately clear what happened to the individual.

Those searching are wearing bright colors and combing through the brush in the area.

Anyone with information on Abosede’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Naperville Police Investigations Division at 630-548-1421.
