Search Continues for Shooting Suspect Accused of Killing 4 at Neighborhood Bar

Montana authorities are still searching for a man who allegedly shot and killed four people at a bar on Friday.

The Billings Gazette has reported that authorities have not dismissed the possibility that Michael Paul Brown, 45, may have taken his own life in the mountains west of Anaconda, where he allegedly shot four individuals.

Paul is believed to have entered the Owl Bar and killed Daniel Baillie, 59, Nancy Kelley, 64, David Leach, 70, and Tony Palm, 74.

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen said 250 officers are searching on the ground for Brown — who is still considered armed and dangerous.

Knudsen also said a rifle was used in Friday’s shooting, but he did not provide specifics.

It is said that Brown escaped the scene in a stolen Ford F-150 pickup, which had camping gear and clothing inside. Although the truck was discovered on Friday, Brown remains unaccounted for.

According to the Billings Gazette, Knudsen stated, “Currently, we have reason to believe the suspect is fully clothed, with shoes on, and capable of moving about.”

Officials stated that Brown lived next door to the bar and was likely a frequent customer. However, a motive remains unclear.

A $7,500 reward is being offered for information leading to Brown’s capture or arrest.
