Police investigating antisemitic hate crime in Missouri

() An investigation is underway into a hate crime in Clayton, Missouri, nine miles west of St. Louis, after a vehicle was set on fire.

The Clayton Fire and Police Departments responded to the scene in the early hours of Tuesday morning and noted antisemitic graffiti on the road next to the car.

According to First Alert 4, “Death to the IDF,” referring to the Israel Defense Forces, was written on the road.

Justice Department official Harmeet Dhillon wrote on X that the perpetrators will be held “accountable for these violent acts.”

No one was injured during the incident.

According to a statement from Clayton Mayor Bridget McAndrew, the FBI, local and regional law enforcement are investigating the case.

McAndrew described the act as “repulsive” and said “we will not tolerate harassment, intimidation, or violence based on someone’s nationality, race, religion, or ideology.”
