Austin Drummond, sought in connection with a quadruple murder in West Tennessee, was apprehended Tuesday morning, as reported by law enforcement officials.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation released the photo below of Drummond moments after he was taken into custody.

Earlier, a shelter-in-place alert was issued in Jackson, Tennessee, when the local police department announced via social media that Drummond had been sighted in the area.

“Due to the sighting of suspect Austin Drummond in the area of Saddlebrook Drive and Bridlepath Drive, please shelter in place immediately.”

Drummond had evaded capture since the previous Tuesday, following the discovery of four family members’ bodies in Lake County. His vehicle was located in Jackson on Friday.

During the shelter-in-place, police advised residents to keep windows and doors locked, remain indoors, and avoid unnecessary travel.

Union University was placed on lockdown on Monday while officers searched for Drummond, resulting in several street closures as law enforcement assembled in the vicinity.

Police also said Drummond was seen Sunday night on a citizen’s camera system.

Two surveillance videos were released, depicting Drummond dressed in camouflage clothing, carrying a backpack and a rifle. In one clip, he is seen trying to open a door.
