LOS ANGELES — Time to grab your ‘ohana and settle in—the live-action “Lilo & Stitch” is coming to Disney+!
This fresh take on the cherished Disney classic is equally amusing and touching as the original, encapsulating the enchantment that made the tale so extraordinary.
The film centers on a solitary girl named Lilo who adopts Stitch, an alien she believes to be a puppy. Together, they develop an unexpected friendship that mends Lilo’s fractured family, while Stitch creates mayhem all over the Hawaiian Islands.
Lilo is played by Maia Kealoha, whose vibrant personality and youthful energy have gone viral online.
The movie soared past $1 billion in global box office earnings, marking the first film of 2025 to hit that landmark. Additionally, a sequel is already in development.
It also set a record as the highest-grossing four-day Memorial Day weekend opening in U.S. history.
