ALTOONA, Fla. – Deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office used a drone to locate and apprehend a man accused of domestic battery, according to a news release.
The sheriff’s office said on Facebook that around 5:29 a.m. Friday, deputies responded to a home in reference to a “domestic disturbance.”
After further investigation, the post states, it was determined that the suspect, Joshua High, “had multiple charges” and fled the scene.
Officials said deputies deployed a drone to find High and were able to locate him hiding in a nearby wood line.
According to the news release, the deputies showed the drone’s live video stream to the victim, and they positively identified High.
High was arrested and taken to the Lake County jail.
He is charged with simple domestic battery, interfering with a 911 call, providing false information to a police officer, and burglary that involved battery.
