A young boy, recognized and made a secret service agent by President Trump, visited the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) headquarters and was celebrated by state officials.

Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel was sworn in by SLED Chief Mark Keel and Lt. Governor Pamela Evette as an honorary SLED agent.

“He is an incredible individual who has overcome numerous obstacles and yet remains joyful and enthusiastic, living each day to its fullest. He is truly an inspiration to all,” shared Evette.

Alongside his father, Theodis Daniel, he toured the SLED facility. They interacted with K-9 units, met various law enforcement officers, and had the chance to explore the agency’s helicopters.

DJ said law enforcement gives him the strength to walk today.

“Every time they put their uniform on — it gives me more life,” DJ said.

“Your affection for this profession and those who serve in it, and have served for many years, fills us with pride. It’s not something we witness from everyone, but it’s evident in you,” stated Keel.

Theodis said DJ has been sworn into more than 3,000 agencies across the country.
