The Grammy-winning singer’s announcement came two days before her next scheduled performance.

LAS VEGAS — Kelly Clarkson announced she is postponing her Las Vegas residency shows in August due to a family illness.

“Although I usually keep my personal life private, this past year has brought challenges as my children’s father has been unwell. Right now, I must prioritize being there for them,” Clarkson shared on social media Wednesday. “I deeply apologize to those who purchased tickets to the shows and am truly grateful for your grace, kindness, and understanding.”

Clarkson was married to music manager Brandon Blackstock from 2013 until their separation in 2020, finalizing their divorce in 2022. During their marriage, they welcomed two children: River Rose, 10, and Remington Alexander, 8.

The Grammy-winning singer’s announcement came two days before her next scheduled performance.

There were five remaining shows in August for “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions – The Las Vegas Residency” that had to be canceled. The next performances were scheduled for Friday, Aug. 8, and Saturday, Aug. 9. It’s uncertain if or when these shows will be rescheduled.

She still has four shows scheduled for November.

This delay follows the 42-year-old star, renowned for her dynamic vocals since her American Idol victory in 2002, postponing the initial weekend of the residency just hours before she was set to perform.

Those shows were rescheduled for July 2026, according to Ticketmaster.

Earlier this year, the “The Kelly Clarkson Show” presenter unexpectedly missed 10 episodes of her program. During her absence, guest celebrities stepped in, which led to speculation and concern about her situation.

At that time, she said she was fine herself, but was dealing with a “sudden family emergency.”
