Actor Dean Cain, renowned for his portrayal in the 1990s “Superman” TV series, has declared his intention to work with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as President Donald Trump intensifies efforts to combat illegal immigration.

“I will be sworn in as an ICE agent asap,” Cain said Wednesday evening during an appearance on Fox News’s “Primetime with Jesse Watters.”

Cain, a sworn deputy sheriff and reserve police officer, said he feels he needs to “step up” and help Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts.

A Hollywood personality who has frequently voiced his opinions on political subjects, Cain recently drew attention for criticizing James Gunn’s revival of “Superman,” which was condemned by right-wing critics for promoting a pro-immigration narrative.

“For James Gunn to say it’s an immigrant thing … I think it’s going to hurt the numbers on the movie,” the actor said at the time.

The new Superman set summer box office records during its first weekend in theaters.

ICE revealed earlier this week that it is removing the age restriction for new recruits, allowing individuals over 40 to join its deportation unit, and is offering up to a $50,000 signing bonus as part of its enhanced recruitment strategy. At 59, Cain, who is also recognized for hosting the reality show “Ripley’s Believe It or Not,” fits within this new hiring policy.
