COLUMBIA, S.C. () — André Bauer announced he suspended his campaign for U.S. Senate on Friday, just over a month after announcing his candidacy.

In a social media post, Bauer released the following statement:

“After deep prayer and reflection, I have decided to suspend my campaign for the United States Senate.

This choice is not made easily. I joined this campaign with a genuine desire to serve, believing that our country requires leaders who stand for truth, integrity, and faith. Now, more than ever, I realize that for us to make real progress, we must cease the cycle of tearing each other down with falsehoods and division.

I cannot and will not engage in a political atmosphere that favors deceit over transparency or personal ambition over collective harmony. We are called to uphold truth, encourage positivity, and make peace—not to seek power.

If we are to achieve genuine success, it will not be through defamation or selfish pursuits. It will come through unity, humility, and a common commitment to honor God and serve each other. I hope the remaining candidates can embrace this approach.

I’m deeply grateful to all who supported this campaign my family and I over the years. God Bless.”

Bauer officially announced that he was running for Senate on July 2, challenging incumbent Lindsey Graham in South Carolina.
