The individual in charge of America’s military recently shared a video regarding a Christian nationalist church, where multiple pastors expressed that women should no longer have the right to vote.

This significant repost on platform X by Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, shared on Thursday night, highlights his strong personal ties to a Christian nationalist pastor known for his radical beliefs on religion and women’s roles.

In the post, Hegseth referenced a nearly seven-minute CNN report focusing on Doug Wilson, who is a cofounder of the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches, also known as CREC.

The piece showcased several pastors from the denomination advocating for the removal of women’s voting rights from the Constitution, along with congregants suggesting that women should “submit” to their spouses.

“All of Christ for All of Life,” Hegseth wrote in his post that accompanied the video.

Hegseth’s post received more than 12,000 likes and 2000 shares on X.

Some users agreed with the pastors in the video, while others expressed alarm at the defence secretary promoting Christian nationalist ideas.

Pentagon’s chief spokesperson, Sean Parnell, informed The Associated Press that Hegseth is “a proud member of a church” associated with CREC and that he “holds Mr. Wilson’s writings and teachings in high regard.”

This past May, Hegseth extended an invitation to his personal pastor, Brooks Potteiger, to conduct the first of several Christian prayer services at the Pentagon, which he has hosted during working hours.

Defence Department employees and service members said they received invitations to the event in their government emails.

“I’d like to see the nation be a Christian nation, and I’d like to see the world be a Christian world,” Wilson said in the CNN report.
