Arizona police released new details on Friday regarding the tragic May drowning of influencer Emilie Kiser’s 3-year-old son, mentioning that her husband allegedly placed a $25 bet on an NBA playoff game during the incident.

According to the Chandler Police Department report unsealed on Friday, Brady Kiser was home with the couple’s two sons while Emilie was out with friends on May 12 when Trigger drowned in the backyard pool. The report indicates that the toddler was in the pool for approximately seven minutes before Kiser discovered him and pulled him out. Tragically, he passed away in the hospital six days following the incident.

Initially, police suggested charging Kiser with one count of child abuse. However, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office later decided not to pursue charges, citing “no reasonable likelihood of conviction.”

Kiser’s attorney expressed his client’s relief, noting gratitude to law enforcement and the county attorney for their diligent investigation, which confirmed the incident as a tragic accident.

As per the report accessed by People magazine, Kiser called the police at around 6:41 p.m. local time, reporting to the responding officer that he had lost sight of Trigger for three to five minutes before discovering him in the pool.

In several subsequent interviews, Kiser recounted his activities to officers after his wife left to socialize with friends, which included feeding the children dinner and sitting on the couch watching Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics.

“I didn’t have a clock, obviously,” Kiser told police in an initial interview about how long he lost sight of his son. “I don’t know the exact time, but it was moments, it wasn’t minutes, it was moments. It wasn’t that he had been out of sight for long.”

Surveillance footage, however, showed that Trigger was unsupervised for at least nine minutes, and had been in the water for at least seven before Kiser found him, the report states. The footage also showed that the toddler “did not go into the water intentionally, rather he tripped and fell in while playing with an inflatable chair,” the report states.

Around that same time, according to Kiser’s phone data detailed in the report, “a $25 wager was placed on Jayson Tatum scoring more than 40 points” on a sports betting app. The report states that the “wager was a winner, paying $102.50.”

The report states that the incident was the result of Trigger being “unsupervised while playing around the unsecured pool and unable to swim.”

“It is clear Brady’s attention was divided,” the report added.

The report’s release came one day after the Arizona Superior Court for Maricopa County ruled in Emilie Kiser’s favor after she requested to seal certain details about hr son’s death.

Emilie Kiser, who has built millions of followers across TikTok and Instagram with mom and wife content, has not publicly commented on her son’s death. An attorney for the Kisers did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Saturday.
