Nelly Furtado was all smiles as she put on a leggy display at Boardmasters Festival in Cornwall on Saturday.

The I’m Like a Bird hitmaker, 47, looked incredible in a pair of ruffled khaki hotpants that she paired with a green wrap-around top and scarf.

She switched up the colour of the outfit with her choice of white cowboy boots, which were on full display as she strutted her stuff on stage.

Wearing black-green tinted sunglasses and eye-catching jewelry, the star appeared to be thoroughly enjoying herself.

The singer’s setlist from the event hasn’t been released yet, but she’s recently performed popular songs like Say It Right, Maneater, I’m Like a Bird, and All Good Things (Come to an End).

The singer is one of several big-name acts performing at Boardmasters Festival including The Prodigy, who are set to headline on Sunday night.

Nelly’s bold performance at the Cornish music festival follows her revelation about a past abusive relationship with an unnamed partner.

She described the dynamic as ‘toxic’ and said that ‘fear’ and ‘love’ can trap a person in a troubled relationship.

The singer said you ‘don’t tell your friends the truth about what’s going on in your life.’

Nelly also maintained that ‘as women I think we tend to sacrifice our happiness sometimes’ after falling ‘in love’ with someone.

On the Call Her Daddy podcast, she shared, ‘I went through a challenging period where I accepted certain behaviors I wouldn’t tolerate now, regarding how you’re treated.’

‘You cannot see it at all when you’re in it, and sometimes we just love so hard, and we love,’ added the I’m Like A Bird hitmaker.

She continued, ‘And I’m sure there are other women who relate, especially when we become mothers. We are particularly vulnerable then because we want to do what’s best for our kids and ensure their safety.’

Nelly has three children: her daughter Nevis, 21, with her former boyfriend Jasper Gahunia, and a son and another daughter with rapper Jerry, also known as Gerard Damien Long, whose names she hasn’t publicly shared.

While the singer's setlist from the performance has not yet been publicly available, she has recently performed hits including Say It Right, Maneater, I'm Like a Bird and All Good Things (Come to an End)

In between her relationships with the fathers of her children, she was married to sound engineer Demacio Castellon from 2008 to 2016.

‘And I think that in general I’ll say that it can really happen to anybody, feeling powerless, you know what I mean?’ said Furtado on Call Her Daddy.

‘You could have all the money in the world and all the resources, but in the mind, really that is your only wealth is in your mind.’

She argued that someone who ‘can’t feel strong enough and clear enough’ might have difficulty exiting ‘a situation that might be toxic for you and not the best for you, and also abusive in any way.’

Furtado’s advice ‘to ladies out there’ is that the ‘people that are telling you what you don’t wanna hear, those are the ones you need to keep close. Hopefully they know you well enough to not repel you with judgement or anything like that.’
