A so-called “friendly” between Como 1907 and Real Betis transformed into anything but, erupting into a full-blown brawl involving punches thrown, red cards issued, and even an accidental blow to a teammate caught in the melee.

The chaos unfolded just before halftime at the Estadio Municipal de La Línea de la Concepción in Cádiz, triggered by two fierce challenges on Betis stars Giovani Lo Celso and Isco, igniting a fiery altercation between the teams.

Como midfielder Maxi Perrone and Betis’ Pablo Fornals exchanged blows, with players from both sides rushing in. During the scuffle, Betis striker Cucho Hernández attempted to punch a Como player, only to accidentally hit his own teammate, Natan. A case of friendly fire in its truest form.

The referee initially sent off Perrone and Héctor Bellerín, but later rescinded Bellerín’s red card, reassigning it to Fornals instead—to Bellerín’s notable displeasure.

The match eventually resumed, with Como – coached by Cesc Fàbregas – sealing a 3-2 win thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Iván Azón.

Como now prepare to face Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy, while Betis proceed with a final warm-up against Málaga. However, after this heated incident, it seems both teams may need to focus on anger management alongside their tactical preparations.
