Investigators allege that the 28-year-old man sent unsolicited sexualised messages to a number of victims using social media in July and August of this year.
Several digital devices allegedly containing child exploitation material were then seized in a search warrant at a North Booval address on Friday.
The 28-year-old North Booval man has been charged with three counts of stalking, two counts of making child exploitation material, and one count of possessing child exploitation material.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Investigators believe there may be more members of the community who may have been contacted via social media with the intent of obtaining photographs of children.
Detectives are appealing to those members of the community and anyone aware of suspect child exploitation or similar offences to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
