Two individuals have been apprehended in connection to the demise of a 28-year-old pregnant woman from Ohio. Her remains were discovered inside a plastic container by a roadside in Jackson Township earlier this month.

Although James Rothenbusch and Rick Sheppard have not been formally charged with causing Brittany Fuhr-Storms’ death, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that the men were being scrutinized by their team for a while, and they purportedly acknowledged that Fuhr-Storms passed away at their residence.

The pair reportedly said that they kept the woman’s body at the home for nearly a week before dumping it.

“The reality is, there are individuals in custody who were present when she died,” stated the department’s Chief of Staff, Jeremy Roy, during a press briefing. “This creates a significant concern. There’s no record of emergency calls nor did anyone seek assistance. That’s cause for alarm.”

Authorities revealed that the container was secured with screws and that the body was enveloped in tarps and towels. The accused claimed that they kept Fuhr-Storms’ body in the shower before encasing it in the container and abandoning it by the roadside.

Both suspects are facing charges for the misuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence. Additionally, Rothenbusch is charged with contributing to drug offenses, including drug trafficking, drug possession, failure to report a crime or death, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said more charges could be forthcoming.
