A 47-year-old was apprehended around 9.50 am yesterday during a coordinated operation in a parking lot at the intersection of Botany Road and McEvoy Street in Waterloo.

Police used a Taser during the arrest, after which the man was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital.

Following the arrest, officers executed a search warrant at a property on George Street, Waterloo, where they reportedly confiscated 14 empty vape bottles, 13 pen and marker casings, wires, switches, USB cables, and power adapters.

Investigators will allege that these items were used in the manufacture of the prohibited devices.

Police also allegedly seized six complete stun devices, of which they will claim five were disguised as vapes and one as a permanent marker.

The arrested man has since been charged with multiple offences related to the making and selling of prohibited weapons.

He was refused bail and will appear in court today.
