Recycle your electronics in Beaufort County Aug. 23

Residents of Beaufort County, SC, have an opportunity to dispose of their electronic waste at no cost on Saturday, Aug. 23, thanks to an event organized by The Beaufort County Department of Solid Waste and Recycling.

This recycling event is scheduled from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at River Ridge Academy. Attendees are recommended to enter via Hamilton Parkway and then proceed to Raider Drive to minimize traffic congestion.

Staff will unload the electronics directly from your car, so you do not have to exit your vehicle.

Items accepted include:

  • personal computers
  • laptops
  • CRT monitors
  • LCD monitors
  • CRT televisions
  • non-CRT televisions
  • printers
  • hard drives
  • miscellaneous electronics (cell phones, tablets, and fax machines)

Items that will not be accepted include:

  • microwaves
  • vacuums
  • stereos
  • speakers
  • tuners
  • VCRs
  • DVDs
  • lamps, etc.
