Hugh Jackman appeared to be in good spirits on Sunday as he strolled through nature, just a week after announcing his unexpected separation from wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

The 54-year-old Wolverine actor shared a series of photos on Instagram, showcasing him having a tranquil walk in the rain within a picturesque New York City park.

Jackman was all smiles as he posed next to a serene walking trail and lake.

‘Sunday morning walk in the rain … heaven (and muddy)!’ he wrote next to the snaps.

Many of Hugh’s followers were quick to send him their well wishes during this difficult time.

It comes after Jackman and Furness announced they were divorcing after 27 years of marriage.

The couple released a statement to PEOPLE earlier this month, expressing, ‘We have been fortunate to share nearly 30 wonderful years in a loving marriage. Our paths are now diverging, leading us to separate and focus on our personal growth.’

The former couple signed the statement as ‘Deb and Hugh Jackman,’ adding: ‘This is the sole statement either of us will make.’ 

The Australian couple share two children together; Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18. 

Jackman briefly spoke with paparazzi on the street after the shock announcement, admitting he and his soon-to-be ex-wife are struggling with their split.

As he walked along a street, he divulged that ‘it’s a difficult time’ but declined to discuss the breakup further.
