Birmingham Police Department requesting help identifying attempted murder suspect

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an attempted murder suspect.

Just after 12:30 p.m. on Friday, East Precinct officers responded to a shooting incident at a Shell gas station located in the 400 block of Oporto-Madrid Boulevard North. Upon arrival, they found a young male with a gunshot wound inside the store. The Birmingham Police Department reports that the injuries were not life-threatening.

The police state that the suspect initially entered the gas station, made a comment to the victim, and left. The suspect then returned, fired shots, and escaped the location.
