“ICE lodged an arrest detainer against Sameh Mohamad Chami—a criminal illegal alien allowed into our country by Joe Biden,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated to Fox News. “This depraved individual was charged with aggravated kidnapping after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman who was a passenger in his Uber vehicle. President [Donald] Trump and Secretary [Kristi] Noem empowered our courageous law enforcement to take down these offenders and protect women from sexual predators.”
The detainer was filed on the day of Chami’s arrest to ensure his transfer to ICE custody rather than his release into American communities, as per DHS.
“President Trump and Secretary Noem are dedicated to restoring integrity to the visa program and ensuring it is not exploited to provide aliens with a permanent opportunity to stay in the U.S.,” DHS declared in a statement.
