Maura Higgins and Danny Jones are reportedly set for an awkward reunion, months after their drunken kiss at the BRITs hit the headlines.

The 39-year-old McFly singer and his union with his model wife Georgia, 38, hit a rough patch following a tipsy kiss he shared with campmate Maura at a Universal Records event. Reports also suggested that they extended their night until 6 a.m., enjoying wine together at the Nobu Hotel bar.

After the incident, neither has attended any of the same gatherings, but now Danny and Maura, 34, are expected to potentially encounter each other at the National Television Awards, which take place at the start of September.

The ITV jungle show has picked up 15 nominations and is traditionally shortlisted for Best Entertainment category.

Traditionally, the I’m A Celebrity winner joins hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly on stage to accept the award, which means Danny might inadvertently cross paths with Maura.

A source told The Sun: ‘Danny is expected to attend NTAs on September 10, as have all previous reigning jungle winners and Maura is also going.

‘She has a knack for making a grand entrance on the red carpet and loves dressing up. Some strategic planning will be necessary to ensure they don’t walk side by side, but they may both end up on stage if I’m A Celebrity secures a win.

They added: ‘Maura won’t be answering any questions about the kiss. She’s put the incident behind her and feels she has nothing to be ashamed of.’

At the time of the incident, Danny, apologised to his wife and family for ‘putting them in this situation’.

Georgia, who is a former Miss England, temporarily moved out of the family home in the wake of the kissing scandal back in April.

Following their decision to work on their marriage, she returned home as insiders noted that Danny is eager to do ‘whatever it takes to make it succeed.’

In recent weeks, Danny has been quietly working on repairing the couples 11 year marriage and has just come back from a family holiday with Georgia and their little boy Cooper, seven.

Sharing a slew of snaps to his Instagram, the family looked happy and relaxed as the posed by the sea all together, glowing from the sun and fresh faced from their sunny getaway.

Danny and Georgia beamed for the camera and in another shot, Danny posted a picture of the three of them walking down some cobbled streets, with Georgia grinning from ear to ear.

In the past, the winner of I’m A Celebrity has joined hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly on stage as they collect the gong – meaning Danny could be at risk of bumping into Maura

Alongside the images, he wrote: ‘Sunshiiiiine’ in a nod to the Oasis gig he had been privy to witness a few days earlier.

The Daily Mail has contacted Danny and Maura’s representatives for comment. 

It comes after Danny and Georgia shared some photos of each other on social media earlier this month, a reunion with Georgia’s family last month.

In July, Georgia and Danny revealed they had been catching up with his mother Kathy as the trio headed to watch Oasis’ first of seven reunion shows at Wembley Stadium.

In their first high-profile outing together since the scandal, Danny and Georgia appeared happier than ever in a black-and-white picture shared to Instagram.

They gazed lovingly at one another while Kathy stood in the middle of them as they all shared a laugh together ahead of the concert.

Just days before the gig, Danny and Georgia took to social media to share a photograph of them together as they caught up with her family.

The shot showed Danny and Georgia standing in a crowd of relatives, including seven-year-old son Cooper, while both beamed for the camera. 

She captioned the post: ‘And then there was 17. My family are dotted all over the world so getting all of us together at once is near on impossible which makes days like this even more special.

‘Cousins, aunties, uncles, parents, husbands, wives, kids… my house was full and my heart happy. Missed you Si.’

The couple were last seen together publicly in March.
