BISMARCK, Ill. (WCIA) — The Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin football team faces the challenge of finding replacements for an impactful senior class that helped the Blue Devils achieve a remarkable 11-1 record last year.

The most productive player from last year’s was Evan Parish, who was a huge part of the team’s success one on offense and defense.

Last season, he amassed nearly 1,700 rushing yards and scored 23 touchdowns while also making 145 tackles on defense. This fall, Evan will begin his freshman year at St. Francis (Ill.), where he will continue his football journey as a defensive back at the NAIA level.

But, his brother Liam enters his junior season at BHRA, learning from his brother’s advice.

“Just staying strong, making sure to put yourself through adversity and never give up, and to go five yards plus each play,” Liam said.

He also worked hard to make sure he’ll be an impact player as an upperclassman.

“During the offseason, I really pushed myself to the limits, focusing on hard work, eating plenty, and lifting weights to be well-prepared for my junior and senior years,” he shared.

“He’s improved tremendously this season,” remarked senior offensive lineman Conner Powell. “It’s thrilling to watch him step up and strive to follow in his big brother’s footsteps.”

BHRA opens the season at home against Clifton Central on August 29.
