6 dead after 'dairy accident' in Colorado: Fire Chief

DENVER (KDVR) — Six people are dead after what is being described as a “dairy accident” in Weld County on Wednesday.

The Southeast Weld Fire District was called to a confined space rescue at a dairy located in the 32000 block of Weld County Road 18 around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

In a press release on Thursday, the agency said that when crews responded, they prepared to enter the confined space to perform rescue operations.

Crews ended up recovering the bodies of six people from the space.

The fire chief referred to the incident as a “dairy accident” in the press release, though no additional information about the rescue has been provided so far.
