Menendez brothers are ‘savage, murdering dogs’: Geraldo Rivera

One seasoned journalist openly shares his opinion on whether Lyle and Erik Menendez should be paroled after spending decades in prison for the 1989 murder of their parents.

“I believe they are vicious killers who brutally shot their parents, disfiguring them,” Geraldo Rivera remarked on “Now” Thursday as Erik Menendez faced a California parole board seeking release. “Their intent wasn’t just to kill but to desecrate. It was horrifying.”

Rivera, a correspondent-at-large, dismissed current arguments supporting the brothers Erik, aged 54, and Lyle, aged 57, who assert they have reformed by mentoring inmate peers. The Menendez brothers have alleged past abuse by their father.

‘No sympathy’ for Menendez brothers, journalist says

“I have zero compassion for them. I recall their post-murder spree celebrating, high-fiving each other, and shopping for cars and jewelry,” stated Rivera, who previously reported the case.

Lyle Menendez was scheduled to appear before California parole officials on Friday, with the possibility of differing outcomes for each brother. Governor Gavin Newsom is anticipated to make the ultimate decision if parole is recommended for either sibling.

In 1989, the brothers were found guilty of murdering their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in their Beverly Hills residence. They became eligible for parole after a judge modified their original life sentences to 50 years to life, allowing for potential parole.

Rivera described the Menendez brothers this way: “Manipulative, evil, selfish, self-serving. Pick your adjective.”
