Arsenal fans clearly can’t wait for Eberechi Eze to join their ranks.

Only hours after news surfaced about his impending £60m transfer from Crystal Palace to north London, a significant mural of the England international emerged near the Emirates Stadium.

Eze, who contributed to Palace’s FA Cup victory last season, had long been associated with Tottenham, with what appeared to be a verbal agreement. However, in a dramatic transfer twist, Arsenal stepped in at the last moment to secure the 27-year-old, outmaneuvering their rivals.

The mural, crafted by famed street artist Northbanksy, depicts Eze in an Arsenal jersey executing his trademark goal celebration – crossing his fingers in front.

Northbanksy, an avid Arsenal fan, posted the piece on social media, proudly showcasing it in his self-declared Arsenal street art gallery called ‘The Tunnel.’

“Eberechi Eze of Arsenal Football Club,” he wrote on X alongside various snaps of the mural, including when selfie in which he imitated Eze’s pose.

While numerous Arsenal supporters quickly applauded Northbanksy for his artwork and expressed enthusiasm about Eze’s potential move to the club, some noted that Eze’s transfer hasn’t actually been officially confirmed by either the Gunners or Palace yet.

“Amazing work, but I hope this doesn’t come back to haunt us,” remarked a supporter. “We’re mocking Spurs fans after the deal fell through. We’ll be a joke if this now doesn’t materialize.”

Northbanksy, however, wasn’t phased by the potential backlash, offering a classic artist’s response: “That’s the risk I run.”

Only time will tell if the mural will be a masterstroke or go down as one of the boldest, and most premature, statements in north London football history.
