Nataliia Richardson, 32, is an office assistant, baker, and a contestant on The Great British Bake Off (GBBO) 2025. Originally from Ukraine, Nataliia learned baking from her grandmother, using traditional recipes that have been passed down through generations.
She continues to cherish these recipes and enjoys combining classic British bakes with flavors reminiscent of her heritage, including honey, poppy seeds, and spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. On Instagram, Nataliia expressed: “I’m beyond excited (and a little nervous!) to finally share that I’ll be a contestant on The Great British Bake Off – Series 16. It’s an honour to be the first Ukrainian baker in the tent, and I can’t wait to share this adventure with you all — let’s bake, laugh, and enjoy it together each week.”
It was Nataliia Richardson’s husband, Harry, who secretly enrolled her in Bake Off without her knowledge. Recalling the moment, she said: “When he informed me that the Bake Off team wanted to speak to me, I was – to put it mildly – shocked. We were at home, and it was the most unexpected phone call.”
Speaking about walking into the tent for the first time, she said it was “unbelievable” and “like walking into a film you’ve watched hundreds of times”. She added: “It was so interesting to see how everything is set up and to experience the same emotions that all the incredible bakers before me must have felt.”
