TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will wrap up their preseason on Saturday at Raymond James Stadium against the Buffalo Bills.

Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles announced earlier this week that none of the starters will participate, offering a significant chance for players on the fringe to vie for a spot on the 53-man roster through one last impressive performance.

“Honestly, they’re all difficult,” shared Bowles. “The toughest part for a coach is having to inform someone that they can’t continue in the NFL. In terms of positions, this has likely been a tough camp with various battles occurring everywhere. Injuries also influence these decisions. Thus, nearly every position will be affected by injuries and performances on Saturday, which will be a crucial factor.”

NFL teams are required to trim their rosters from 90 to 53 players by 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Bowles, speaking to the media on Thursday, indicated that these discussions will commence on Friday.

“We will begin discussions tomorrow and observe the outcome of the game. It’s necessary to review the situation four or five times and have a final meeting. We haven’t started our group discussions on cutdowns yet; it’s just been individual conversations, like with me and Jason [Licht] and others. We plan to sit down and discuss this on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and into Monday.”
