An inquiry conducted by the Special Victims Unit of the Johnson City Police Department has led to a federal grand jury indictment of a man facing a child pornography charge.
As reported by the police department, Ronnie Miller, a 52-year-old resident of Johnson City, was apprehended on April 15, facing accusations of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
This arrest followed a probe by the Special Victims Unit, initiated after receiving a tip from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Sex Offender Registry.
Police found two cell phones, three memory cards, and three USB drives in Miller’s possession, which contained visual content related to child sexual assault, according to authorities. Further investigation reportedly uncovered over 1,000 images of such material.
A federal grand jury subsequently indicted Miller in August on charges of possessing child pornography involving a pre-pubescent minor or a minor under 12 years old, as per police reports.
Miller remains jailed at the Washington County Detention Center.
