Jordan Love wants to get Micah Parsons in Green Bay.
Parsons is an an ugly, ongoing contract standoff with the Cowboys after publicly asking to be traded earlier this month.
Love is trying to take advantage and get Parsons on the Packers.
“I had a chat with Micah this offseason,” shared Love on the “Up and Adams” show. “We collaborated on a podcast and I tried to recruit him a bit.”
Earlier this month, Parsons — a two-time All-Pro — accused Cowboys owner Jerry Jones of negotiating an extension in bad faith.
“Regrettably, I don’t wish to remain here anymore,” Parsons expressed in a social media statement. “I refuse to be involved in secret negotiations without my agent. I won’t stand for being criticized for sustaining injuries while putting everything on the line for the organization, our supporters, and my teammates. I reject any fabricated narratives being spread about me in the media.”
Parsons is entering the final year on his rookie contract.
He has been a hold-in at Cowboys training camp.
The situation took an unexpected twist on Friday when Parsons attended the Cowboys’ preseason game against the Falcons dressed casually. He appeared on camera eating nachos and even laid down on a medical table at one point.
Jones spoke about the situation recently, calling any possibility of the Cowboys trading Parsons “BS.”
He claimed Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, told the team to stick their latest contract offer “up our ass.”
“We intended to send over an offer to the agent, but he instructed us not to bother as there was already plenty to deliberate on,” Jones mentioned on Michael Irvin’s podcast. “I had already compromised on numerous points in negotiations. Frankly, from my perspective, the negotiation was complete, but it seems the agent is now trying to interfere.”
