TUSCOLA, Ill. (WCIA) — Warrior senior runner Kate Foltz is gearing up for her final season in Tuscola, aiming to propel her team to another state appearance while making an enduring impact on the program.

In her junior year, Foltz set a personal best at the Class 1A state finals, clocking in at 15:59.40 to clinch the state title. As the sole senior on the team, she is set to impart her knowledge and experience to the upcoming generation of Warrior runners.

“I think approaching things one day at a time is the most effective approach because it prevents it from becoming a chore,” Foltz shared. “Putting too much pressure on yourself and constantly thinking about the number of days left, all the competitions, and demanding top performance from yourself can be very stressful. So, I advise others not to worry about tomorrow’s meet. Just get through practice and focus on each moment, and the results will follow.”

Tuscola’s season begins at the Doc Acklin Invitational in Paris on August 30, with all eyes on the state finals on November 8 at Detweiller Park.
