KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) Two men lost their lives, and three others, including a minor, were injured in a shooting that took place in a downtown Kansas City parking lot on Sunday morning.

According to Kansas City police, the preliminary investigation suggests that a dispute led to gunfire shortly after 4 a.m. The information from KCPD does not specify the involvement of those injured in the argument.

The minor victim, a male, is in critical condition. Another man sustained serious injuries, while a woman has injuries that are not life-threatening. One of the deceased men was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other succumbed to his injuries at a hospital shortly after 6:40 a.m.

Investigators are downtown looking for witnesses and surveillance video. So far no suspect information has been released.

Jackson County Sheriff Darryl Forte posted pictures on Facebook showing an extensive crime scene marked off by tape. The area spans from 13th Street just north of the T-Mobile Center, stretching up Grand to 12th Street and extending east to McGee Street.

An employee at the College Basketball Experience informed Nexstar’s FOX4 that their building was hit 31 times, with several bullets penetrating the glass.
